GT Federal is a typeface derived from both european and american type design. While its narrow and economic shapes are similar to american gothic typefaces, they also carry the swiss spirit of neutrality.

For GT Federal I wanted to have a distinct italic companion. Therefore I incorporated some humanistic traits. Although the version displayed here is still a bit too strongly emphasized for my taste...
